The 2nd Hotel W of Europe just Opened in Barcelona

As all the other big buildings, Hotel W have experienced some negative reactions because of landscape pollution, however, as most of the other things, people have experienced the usual adaptation period and the 2nd Hotel W of Europe has opened on the 1st of October as planned after the one in Istanbul.




Many people had the idea that the hotel is related to the 7 stars Hotel, Burj Al Arab, in Dubai, but unlike the similarity of the architecture, Hotel W belongs to the StarWood Hotels Group of the U.S. The letter W stands for the first letters of what, where, when, why questions, which tells that these questions all have a correspondence in the Hotel Ws around the world.


As we entered Hotel W, we run into a number of negative points that could be recovered. However, in the mean time, surely, the Hotel management will take care of the details. 

W Barcelona is the first hotel in Barcelona with direct access to the beach, and the first major hotel on the Passeig de Joan de Borbó, an up-and-coming waterfront district of luxury retails, theaters and nightclubs.

Designed by Ricardo Bofill, the Spanish architect behind Barcelona Airport’s new Terminal T1, the 26-story hotel would not look out of place in Dubai. It has 473 rooms (including 70 suites), a Bliss Spa and gym, a restaurant by the Catalan chef Carles Abellan, a rooftop bar (Sky Bar, revolving), infinity pool, terraces and cabanas.

To celebrate the opening, the hotel has a package starting at 249 euros that includes two welcome cocktails, daily breakfast for two, free appetizer or dessert with dinner, a Bliss Spa gift, a free manicure when another Bliss treatment is booked, VIP access to the rooftop bar, a room upgrade and late check-out. Good through Feb. 27.
